Enhanced Eye Examination
Traditional ways of looking at the retina only show a small part of the retina at one time.
The optomap retinal exam shows nearly the whole retina at once.
It is quick, painless and normally does not require dilation drops.
Enhanced Eye Examination
We recommend all our patients have the very best enhanced eye examination.
This includes the OCT scans, these provide a very detailed 3D scan of the structures lining the back of the eye. This allows early detection and treatment of a wide range of eye conditions.
If required, the optometrist will also advise the wide angle Optomap. This shows nearly the whole retina at once and is useful for the detection of retinal tears or detachments.

EARLY DETECTION IS ESSENTIAL SO THEY CAN BE SUCCESSFULLY TREATED.
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a type of eye exam that provides a very detailed, 3D scan of the structures lining the back of the eye.
The OCT emits safe light waves to create high definition pictures of the structural layers of the retina and beyond rather like a CT scan.
This allows us to give patients of all ages a highly advanced eye examination and aids the early detection and treatment of a wide range of eye conditions.
